Favorite Ride? The rides with the cooler temperatures are my favorites. I hate the heat! So the ride over North Cascades Highway, for our Bunny Run, has to be a favorite. I loved the people involved on this ride, the scenery, the food, and the fun we had at the Skagit Resort. The ‘49er Diner is also a favorite.
- Worst Ride? This was many years ago on a 1969 Triumph motorcycle that Wayne had ridden to California only one day after we moved into our present day home (I wasn’t mad, oh no!) To make amends I got to ride to Wenas Lake with him and another couple. It hurt my behind so badly that I cried all the way hoe. Now, you know why I have a soft seat on the Harley, I am a wimp!!!
- Humorous Ride Situation? A ride to Richland and a great salmon meal at Anthony’s ended up being a humorous ride because I learned my name wasn’t Louise anymore. Our Harley group was of great interest to many people at Anthony’s that day as were a group of African American Ladies dressed to the nines with magnificent hats. I believe it was Ann and Kathy who got the next part started and it snowballed into a great time for both groups. It seems, the ladies were so excited by our group, Ann and Kathy invited the beautifully dressed ladies to ride the Harleys. What a sight! Some had dresses on while a couple had pants. One lady was particularly talkative and chose Wayne’s Harley to ride. I introduced the two of us by using our first names. She gave her name and I remembered it for a couple of years---but can’t remember it now. Wayne took her on the ride---by the way she was one with a great dress on and watching her modestly getting on the cycle was cute. I gave her my helmet and away they went. When they returned she had a big smile and lovely thank-you for us. “Thank you Dot”. Wayne and I got on the bike and headed home with the group. We were all pleased with the day---but I was confused. Why did she call me Dot? It took me a few miles and I broke out with a big smile. Just look at the back of your helmet and most everyone else’s!!! There it was---I was DOT…Department of Transportation.
- Ride Motto? Always ride with people who have small bladders.
- Ride Advice? Do not tell the driver how to drive when you are the passenger on a motorcycle!!!
