Favorite Ride:
Durango, Colorado trip. Our destination was The Million Dollar Highway north of Durango on Hwy 550. We traveled through Arches National Park in Utah on the way down. The red/orange fascinating sandstone formations are absolutely beautiful. The Million Dollar Hwy was 10,000 to 12,000 feet high, very scenic, no guard rails, no shoulders, sheer cliffs, and switch back narrow roads making the ride a blast.
One year on the Oregon coast, it rained for 2 days. I was on my Sportser at the time. For 2 days I could not see out of my goggles, l was heavily sprayed with water and blown around by semitrucks.
When I was first Iearning how to ride, we decided to ride out the Wenas rode. After a while, it started to get really cold. I stopped at a stop sign and turned around to tell my husband I was too cold, could not go any further, and didn't think I could ride the bike home. He looked at me and said, "well, l am on my bike and l can not ride your bike home so you will have to ride it home". We both laughed.
Always assume another motorist does not see you.
All motorists can be counted on only to do the unexpected.
