Hey everyone.
We are one step closer to riding season! We actually had a couple of good days in January. On the 19th a few of us went on an impromptu ride out Highway 24 to the Silver Dollar. Then we cut over to Sunnyside and returned to Yakima via the Yakima Valley Highway. Jason Cavanaugh got his first taste of group leading! It felt good to ride together after the winter we have been having. Hopefully February will give us some more opportunities for those spontaneous rides, but I’m not planning anything solid just yet.
Apple State treated us to a HOG Birthday breakfast after the Chapter meeting in January. The meeting was very well attended. Thanks for that! Thanks to the volunteers that helped cook and serve also. You know who you are.
The dealership has a couple of pretty big events this month that are motorcycle specific. The first one is a Harley Fashion Show directly following our Chapter meeting on the 11th. Then, for all you ladies, from 6 – 8 on Thursday, the 16th, there will be a Ladies Garage Night with all kinds of pampering going on. There will be demonstrations from the different departments of the dealership as well.
Our January Dinner/Social at Tailgaters was a huge success. There were 42 people there counting some folks from Apple State that just happened to show up for a birthday party at the same time as we were there. The next one will be on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 5:00 at Abbey’s Pizza. Once again, please let me know if you plan on coming so I can give an accurate headcount to the restaurant.
If you weren’t at the last Chapter meeting you missed a couple of very important things. First is that it is time to renew your local HOG membership. Second is it is time also to renew LifeFlight membership. Both can be done at the Chapter meeting on the 11th. HOG membership is $25 for singles and $40 for couples (annual dues must be current) and LifeFlight is $65. The group LifeFlight has to be mailed in by March 1 so there is a deadline for that. I have attached the LifeFlight application for anyone that needs one (LifeFlight Application Link). If you can’t make it to the meeting, you can bring it to me here at my work, Abbott’s Printing, 500 S. 2nd Ave. in Yakima. Make checks out to Yakima HOG.
