Activities Officer Update November 2022

Hi Everyone.

As I reflect on my first season as the Activities Officer for the Chapter, I’ve got to say that I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! You all made it pretty easy for me and for that I thank you.

Next Saturday, November 12, is our Chapter meeting and, as promised, we will be having a member appreciation breakfast. Plan on having a breakfast burrito instead of a donut before the meeting. We will still meet at 9:00 at Apple State. We hope every member attends. A couple of important topics will be discussed in the meeting that affect everyone, i.e. Christmas Party plans and Ride 365. Please come!

As we enter the colder months we slow down the riding activities. I say slow down because I still ride with my heated gear. If anybody wants to do any cold weather rides with me just let me know. As long as the roads are clear I am game! This month we only have the Toy Runs planned. The first one is actually put on for the Salvation Army and Toys for Tots and is TOMORROW, Nov. 5. It begins at the Safeway on 16th and Lincoln. KSU at 1:00, but you should get there at least an hour early. HOG is not affiliated with this one, but all bikes are welcome and our very own Santa Beard will be leading the pack.

Our Yakima HOG/YWCA Toy Run is next Sunday, the 13th. KSU at Apple State at noon, but, again, please get there early! We will need a few volunteers to help sign people in and sell 50/50 tickets, so if you can help, please let me know. You would need to be at the dealership by 10:00. It is usually more fun than work.

The only other activity we have planned for the Month is a Dinner/Social at 5:00 on Saturday, the 19th at Cowiche Creek Brewing Company, 514 Thompson Road in Cowiche. Please let me know if you will be coming by the Chapter meeting, I would like to give them a head count. I plan on having a get-together somewhere every month so we can stay in touch throughout the off-season. Believe it or not, I kind of like hanging out with you all.

October 31st was the last day to accumulate any more dams for HOG Dam! If you have any dam pictures that you haven’t sent me, please get them sent to me by the end of November so I can get all of the raffle tickets that everyone rightfully deserves. There will be a LOT of them!

Lastly, our sincere condolences go out to Jimmy Benge for the recent loss of his mother.
