Well we are getting close to the end of what some would call the riding season. For me it is just the beginning of the colder riding season, but I am a little nuts. There are some great riding days still ahead of us so we have some rides planned for September to take advantage of that. Here is the Calendar for the month.
To start off, Apple State is having an End of Summer Patio Party in Wenatchee this coming Labor Day Weekend. I have attached the flier for it. It sounds like a good time and Blewett Pass is a blast to ride so you should go check it out. If anyone wants to ride as a group on Saturday, meet at Apple State at noon.
Apple State has asked the Chapter to man an impromptu Hogs and Dogs after the Chapter Meeting on the 10th. That means two things, one is that we will need a few volunteers to cook the dogs and help people get their food and the other is that the rescheduled 3-pass ride gets re-rescheduled. We will do it the following week now on the 17th. KSU @ 10:30. Please let us know if you would be willing to volunteer for the Hog and Dogs. You can contact me, Chuck, Holly or Deb.
The final two Apple State Nike Nights of the year will be September 7 at The Barn Door and the 21st at The Ranch House.
Ladies of Harley’s Coffee Run will be Tuesday, the 20th. Remember that anyone can join. It is called a Coffee Run, but doesn’t always include a coffee stop. The last one ended up at the Peppermint Stick Drive-in in Union Gap after riding Konnowac Pass and Lombard Loop. It would be great to see a lot more people out in support of LOH.
On the 25th I have scheduled a ride over the Chumstick Highway to Coles Corner and the 59er Diner. If you’ve never ridden the Chumstick, you are in for a real treat! We will pass the Tumwater Canyon Dam on the way back for those of you Hog Dammers that don’t have that one yet. We will also ride through Leavenworth so if you want to stop there you can. KSU @ 9 am for that one.
The September Dinner Ride will be on the 29th down the Yakima Valley Highway to Snipes Mountain Brewing in Sunnyside. KSU @ 6pm SHARP please.
